What is this exactly?
This is a web-based tool that helps you build Quad Cortex presets manually, using guided musical criteria. We don't sell preset files. We help you decide what blocks to use, in what order, and how to start dialing them.
Do you export or import preset files into the Quad Cortex?
No. We do not export preset files, and there is no automatic import into the Quad Cortex. You recreate the preset manually on your hardware using the guidance provided.
Why don't you provide preset files?
- Preset files depend heavily on guitar, pickups, hands, and room
- They rarely translate well between different setups
- They encourage copying instead of understanding
- Our goal is to reduce trial and error by providing musical intent and structure, not static files
Will the preset sound exactly like the song?
Not exactly. You'll get a musically accurate starting point, but the final result depends on your guitar, pickups, playing style, monitoring setup, and room. Some tweaking is always expected — and encouraged.
Technical Questions
What gear is supported?
This tool is built specifically for the Neural DSP Quad Cortex. Other modelers or plugins are not supported.
Do I need to be an expert with the Quad Cortex?
No. You just need basic familiarity — creating blocks, adjusting knobs, and navigating presets. If you can already build a simple preset, you'll be fine.
How long does preset generation take?
Preset generation usually takes a few seconds. If generation fails or takes unusually long, you can simply retry. If issues persist, contact support.
What happens if preset generation fails?
In rare cases, generation may fail due to temporary issues. Try again after a moment. If the problem continues, contact support. We actively monitor and fix generation issues.
What styles or genres are supported?
A wide range including rock, metal, blues, pop, and clean/ambient tones. The focus is always musical intent, not strict genre labels.
How accurate are the knob values?
Knob values are starting points, not absolutes. They're designed to get you close quickly, reduce guessing, and save time. Final adjustment is part of the process.
Subscription & Usage
Can I save or revisit my presets?
Yes. Your generated presets are stored in your account history so you can revisit them anytime and rebuild them on your Quad Cortex.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. We offer a free plan with 1 preset per month. Premium plans unlock unlimited presets and additional features.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. You can cancel anytime. Your access remains active until the end of your billing period.
Can I use these presets live?
Yes. Many users create presets for home practice, studio use, and live rigs. You'll still want to level-match and fine-tune for your specific setup.

If the workflow clearly wasn't what you expected, contact support and we'll review the case. Our goal is for the product to be useful — not frustrating.
